Subject: Street Surfer
This is a strange one. A loading screen I did for a C64 game by a US developer about surfing in shorts in the sunshine, done when I was a 16 year old kid in rainy Manchester who'd never left the country.
Street Surfer was a finished game, developed in the US by Sculptured Software, which came to us at Binary Design via our mutual publisher Mastertronic who asked to 'tart up' the graphics a bit.
It did look awful.
I had to redraw some horrible C64 expanded sprites (which weren't that much better than the originals, to be honest), and create a new loading screen.
I think Binary must have been getting a reputation as a studio that made games with good graphics by this point (ahem!).
I think this is the only C64-only loading screen I ever did.
