Subject: Feud
This is the loading screen to the Spectrum version of Feud, the hit Mastertronic game we developed in about 1987.
I was really pleased with this screen. It's a nice strong design, and it works well with the Spectrum's limited colour system. I didn't try to cram too much detail in, which I usually did with loading screens back then.
It seems really weird that I put the "Crash Smash" logo on the actual screen. That was a little award for getting a top review mark in the main Spectrum magazine at the time, so I guess we must have got the review score before we finally mastered the game. This was our first 'proper' Crash Smash (Glider Rider got the qualifying review score, but they forgot to put the Crash Smash mark on the review itself), so John and I were really proud.
I did a completely different loading screen for the Amstrad version, rather than just re-drawing the same design on a different screen type, which was the usual trick back then, so this image is Spectrum only.
