Subject: Project Joy Comics
I started drawing this ages ago as a big A3 strip with about 20 panels, but I got bored and never finished it. I still think it's a great story, although I've probably edited it a bit too much to fit it down into just 10 panels here. I've probably got all the details wrong too, but hey, it's my story now, I can do what I want with it!
I suppose I do draw comic strips about the present day, but this conversation took place last year, and I'm probably mixing it up with thoughts in my head rather than anything I actually said to Paul. Sometimes I look back and think that all the exciting things happened to me in a really short period in my late teens or early twenties, but perhaps that's not really true. I definitely don't get up to the same sort of mad adventures any more, but if I'm honest I don't think I'd want to. I quite like my pipe-and-slippers kind of settled-down life.
I'll just have to use a bit of artistic license, and make my ordinary life seem a bit more exciting when I draw comic strips (in other words, lie).
