Subject: Magnetic Billiards: Blueprint
Following on from the 'popup' graphics I posted yesterday, I had fun doing some more hand-drawn logos in pencil for Magnetic Billiards: Blueprint for iOS.
All the essential game graphics are finished now, so I've got the time to add custom hand-drawn graphics to various places in the game that currently just use plain text, to brighten the whole thing up a little.
Instead of the 'trick cards' in the PC version, the iOS Blueprint game simply gives you instant rewards whenever you clear a cluster of a recognised shape from the table, and these rewards can be in the form of a score, tariff or lives increase. We're still tweaking exactly what the values of the different rewards will be, so I wanted a little graphic for each reward that still allowed us to write a numerical value using the font next to it, depending on the reward value we settled for.
I drew these three logos yesterday, consistent with the hand-drawn / blueprint style of the rest of the game, then decided to mess about colouring them in a bit this morning. In the end I decided that the colour didn't improve the graphics, so I think we'll go with the monochrome versions on the left in the final game.
It was only when I'd finished drawing the SCORE+ graphic that I realised it was almost identical to the Rizla logo. Whoops! I didn't copy it deliberately!
