Subject: 23 Skidoo
We brought a pre-alpha playable iPad prototype of a new game we've been working on - codename 'Skidoo' - along to a meet up of indie game developers in Manchester last night.
This was the first time we'd shown the game to anyone, so we were a bit nervous. The reaction was exactly what we were hoping for, which was a big relief, and a bit of a boost for us. It seemed that people could play the game straight away, understood it from the beginning, and were finding it challenging yet satisfying right from the start. We could also see players getting better after only a few goes, which hopefully means we're on the right track.
There's still a lot of work to do in terms of adding features, content and polish (lots of polish), but we're pretty excited about this game. Now we've just got to think of a title!
