To answer your question no that is indeed the only comic. I read it and it said something like. Wanna know what happens next kiddos? Well go in your moms purse and use her credit card to buy the game huh huh huh. Oh and give us her number too. Rrrrrawr. In other words they came up with that crap hoping kids by the game. (Instead of using your money to get an advertisement on TV like Normal gaming companies.)

Perhaps beside the point, but that comic would not have been in Nintendo Power! It did not carry advertising until years later. Their game-specific comics generally featured first-party characters. If they had done one with Plok it would have also included their mascot character Nester.

LoL also be glad he wasn't in Action 52. Good Lord! Plok is Kaizo enough in some parts, but slap it in action 52 and it would be like playing Kaizo mario on Kaizo mode.

Wait, how does Plok's heart pump blood to his limbs if they're constantly detached from his body? Does the blood teleport to his limbs? Or do each of his limbs have their own hearts? Like how a giraffe has valves in its neck to get blood to its head?
