Plok Volume 2 book launched

Press Release posted by Ste Pickford on Thu, 28 May 2015
Subject: Plok comic strip

Veteran video game designers The Pickford Bros have launched Volume 2 of the collected editions of their weekly webcomic, Plok The Exploding Man, starring the hero of their 1993 SNES game.

The 58 page comic book is available in print, and in Kindle and iBooks digital editions.

At the end of his Super Nintendo game Plok fell asleep in his comfy chair. All of his enemies were defeated, and all of his precious flags were back in place. Twenty years later he wakes up in a comic strip, not quite sure where he is, what year it is, or why he never got a sequel.

The Pickford Bros, creators of the original Plok video game, have revived their creation in the form of a new web-based comic strip. The webcomic appears in weekly 4-panel episodes on the Plok website every Friday.

This second collection - Volume 2: Boom! - contains episodes 27 to 49 of the comic strip, along with seven beautifully illustrated character biographies, a brand new cover drawn exclusively for this book and a twelve page 'sketchbook' containing notes and layout sketches or pencils from each of the 23 strips, giving a detailed insight into the background and creative process involved in the creation of the comic strip.

"We had a brilliant reaction to the release of Volume 1 last year," said Ste Pickford, Plok artist, "with readers sending us pictures of themselves reading the book and giving it to their kids to read, which has been really heart warming."

"The weekly web version of the comic is going from strength to strength," said John Pickford, Plok writer, "with new readers joining us every week, and a vibrant comments section under each strip, so it's great to get the next batch of comic strips out there for our book reading audience as well."

Next we need Plok on GOG.

What he said. What would it take for Plok to get on GOG?

I'm very excited you pikecd up on this project again! While you're working on the other translations, I was wondering if you could provide the raw, untranslated files for us of all the comics? Also, do you have the N-Gang comics as well? Thanks.

Ste Pickford

Translations? N-gang?
